Prayers needed for Lucy, another NICU baby

Please pray for another NICU baby, Lucy, a twin, who was born the day before Gracie...she is severely ill. They are doing surgery right now at 12:15 in the same room as Gracie is. She was gray when I just went in to see Grace. They couldn't stabilize her enough to get her to the O.R.  She has been dealing with an infection for two weeks. Now it looks like her intestines are very bad and her life is in danger. Laura and Damon are first time parents and they are needing peace and comfort right now. Please ask anyone you know to pray for them as a family. It is very, very serious!
Thank you for praying for Lucy and her parents, Laura and Damon.

Update: Please continue to pray for Lucy's parents for peace and strength to get through the upcoming days, weeks and months. Lucy lost her battle for her life. These little babes are so fragile, much more than we think. How do you comfort someone who has lost their baby? How can you tell them how much your heart aches for them and their situation? How can you say you are sorry? How can you lessen the heart break in a mother?
I think this family is great and we have had quite a few commonalities with our stay in the NICU. When I was holding Grace during Lucy's time of passing, my heart just ached and tears flowed for them. Have you ever cried so much for someone else it just hurt? My heart is so broken for Damon and Laura. Lucy seemed so healthy yesterday, this just happened so fast. It's surreal.
Thank you for praying for this dear family.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Lucy. I understand their loss and also the feeling you have of crying so much for someone that it hurts. Just hug them lots and be a friend. Nothing you can say will make it better, but just having someone to talk to about it will help them a little. Sometimes it helps for them to talk about her, what they remember of her, something special about her. It helped me, anyway.

I am really glad to hear that you are going home. Eventhough Gracie will still be in the hospital, it is a step forward! You have many people here praying for her. sorry I didn't get a chance to call you today, just got busy.
